The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Seventeen Model United Nations students, accompanied by Professor Jeffrey Roberg and Professor Penny Seymoure, spent most of their Spring Break in Bogota, Colombia participating in a Model United Nations (MONUA) conference at the Universidad de los Andes.

Augustana College announced 1008 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2015-2016 winter term. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin named Carthage College goalkeeper Taylor Sopron Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. The LaGrange, Ill. native was the anchor behind the Lady Red's 12-6 victory over Adrian College on March 12. Sopron tallied three saves and faced 10 shots in the Lady Red's win.

Iowa State University has announced the students who were selected through a competitive process to student teach science and mathematics in Des Moines Public Schools elementary classrooms as part of the Trinect grant project funded by the National Science Foundation.

Bucknell University has released the dean's list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2015-16 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition.

McKendree University students joined others from colleges and universities across Illinois to meet with state legislators on Feb. 16 and 17 to lobby for continued funding of Monetary Award Program (MAP) grants, at the State Capitol in Springfield.

Miami University awarded 932 degrees to students during fall commencement exercises Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, in Millett Hall. Miami University is a public university located in southwestern Ohio, offering more than 100 degree programs in humanities, science, engineering, business, education and fine arts. Students with more than one listing have earned additional degrees or honors.

The Iowa State University College of Engineering's Dean's List honors students who have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

"Gender, Race, and Class: Social Identities in Modern London" showed students how multiple social identities (e.g., gender, race, class) create unique experiences and perspectives for individuals.

The Iowa State University College of Human Science's Dean's List honors students who have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Southeast Missouri State University has announced its fall 2015 graduates.

A total of 972 students have been named to the Carthage College Dean's List for the Fall 2015 semester.

Up to eight Modern Language Scholarships are awarded to students majoring in Chinese (two scholarships), French (two scholarships), German (two scholarships), or Japanese (two scholarships).

The American Model United Nations conference was held in Chicago Nov. 21-24. Carthage students competed in a field of 1,518 students from 88 universities and colleges across the United States who represented 133 countries.

Experienced Iowa State University students are serving as Peer Mentors for 2015-2016 Learning Communities. Mentors help new students make the transition to college life. These selected Peer Mentors are often involved with organizing study groups, social events, and out-of-class activities. The incoming group of new students comprises approximately 840 students from 19 U.S. states and five foreign countries. With an average high school GPA of 3.32, the Class of 2019 also ranks among the most successful ever.
